Applications are invited for the post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the project:

“Numerical Modeling for Geotechnical Characterization of Slopes Vulnerable to Landslides”.

Position Details:

• Essential Qualification: M.Tech. with 2 years of experience/PhD (awarded/submitted) with specialization in Geotechnical/Geoinformatics Engineering.
• Desirable Qualification: Prior experience of working on topics related to slope stability and landslides analyses, simulations using finite element computer programs, and image processing and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data analysis.
• Duration of Post: Twenty two months from November 10, 2025
• No. of posts: One
• Salary: Rs. 42000/- per month + HRA as per IIT Kanpur norms
• The post is purely temporary and on a contractual basis, and is for the duration of one year and ten months from November 10, 2025.

Selection: The selection committee approved by IIT Kanpur reserves the right to fix suitable criteria for shortlisting of eligible candidates satisfying qualifications and experience. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the date of the interview (online). If shortlisted, copies of relevant certificates will be required and checked against original certificates at the time of the interview.

Job Responsibilities: The candidate must carry out research work, planning, and execution of project-related activities, prepare reports and presentations.
