Applications are invited for a temporary position of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in an ANRF-funded research project at the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur.

Project Title: Reinforcement Learning Based Eco-Driving Assistance System for Indian Highways

PI: Prof. Pranamesh Chakraborty, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur

Co-PI: Prof. Subrahmanya Swamy Peruru, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Kanpur

Eligibility:

M.Tech./ME/MSc. in Civil Engineering (Transportation Engineering), Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Data Science, or allied fields with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or, 60% of marks with valid GATE/NET (UGC, CSIR, etc.) qualified.

B.Tech./B.E./B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning and Computing or allied fields with at least 70% marks or 7.5 CPI with valid GATE/NET (UGC, CSIR, etc.) qualified.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiar with programming tools. such as Python, R, MATLAB, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in data processing, vehicle sensor data analysis, computer vision, reinforcement learning (RL), or traffic data analysis will be preferred.

Salary: Rs. 37,000 + 20% HRA

Duration of initial appointment: One year with provision for extension upon satisfactory performance until end of the project duration.
