Applications are invited for the post of “Deputy Project Manager” in the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering IIT Kanpur. This post is purely temporary and contractual basis.

Number of positions: One

Minimum Qualification:

(a) CA/ICWA/CS

Or

(b) Post graduate (M. Com/ M.Sc./ M.A/ MBA/ MCA) + 5 years relevant experience.

Or

(c) Graduate (B.com. / B.Sc./B.A./ BBA, BCA) + 8 years of relevant experience level.

Essential work experience/knowledge: A Post graduate degree with at least 5 years of experience. Handling of Accounts / Purchase / Import in earlier jobs. Exposure in a professional setting and practical knowledge of materials management, procurement, accounts and stock verification.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Managing Purchases, direct and through Institute by tendering process, Gem-Government e-marketplace.
2. Handling all aspects of purchase including payment to vendors, book-keeping of purchased items, ensuring proper handover of equipment and consumables to right person in the Centre, and maintaining files equipment.
3. Maintaining information files for equipment at the BSBE (MFCEM) Office and providing all logistic level support for sending equipment for repair and maintenance.
4. Dealing with departments (Audit/R&D/Central Stores/Accounts/IWD-Pingla) and operating units in resolving day-to-day operational problems.
5. Experience of academic administration & management in government/ autonomous institution of repute, basic knowledge of computers i.e., MS Office/ Excel/ Power Point/ Access etc.

Duration: Initially for one year and extendable on the basis of performance.

Salary: In the range Rs. 23000-2000-59000 per month (Consolidated).
