Class of 1986 Young Faculty Fellowship

Class of 1986 Young Faculty Fellowship was instituted by Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha and is open to young faculty members of all the departments of IIT Kanpur. Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha (BT/MME/1986) is an entrepreneur and education leader who has played a significant role in shaping higher education in India. He is the Founder and Trustee of Ashoka University and currently serves as the Founding Senior Partner at Jetri. He is also the Founder of the Vedica Scholars Programme for Women and the Founder and Director of 9.9 Group Pvt Ltd. Over the course of his career, he has served as the Founding Dean of the Indian School of Business, held leadership roles at McKinsey & Company and ABP Pvt Ltd, and contributed to several education-focused initiatives. Dr. Sinha holds an MSE and PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics from the University of Pennsylvania. He received the IIT Kanpur Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2018 and holds a Master's and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Prof. Dibyendu Kumar Das

Prof. Dibyendu Kumar Das from the Department of Biological Sciences & Bioengineering, IIT Kanpur has research interests in single-molecule imaging and manipulation, host-pathogen interactions, viral glycoprotein dynamics during cellular entry, membrane fusion, antibody-mediated neutralization, and structure-based immunogen design. He has received several prestigious honors, including the Wellcome Trust/DBT Intermediate Fellowship, Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellowship and Merck Young Scientist Runner-up Award. He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata.

Prof. Abhishek K. Gupta

Prof. Abhishek K. Gupta received his B.Tech.- M.Tech dual degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2010 and PhD degree in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2016. He is currently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He heads the Modern wireless networks group at IITK. His research is in the area of stochastic geometry and modern communication systems, including 5G, mmWave, THz, vehicular, and molecular communication. He was recipient of IEEE wireless communication letters exemplary reviewer award in 2016, GE-FS leadership award by General Electric Foundation and Institute of International Education in 2009 and IITK academic excellence award for four consecutive years (2006-2009). He is author of the books, An introduction to stochastic geometry (Springer Morgan-Claypool, 2022), Numerical methods using MATLAB (Springer Apress, 2014), and MATLAB by examples (Finch, 2010). Before joining IITK, he was working as Sr. standards engineer at Samsung Research America in Dallas, TX, USA. In the past, he has worked in Applied Microelectronics Circuit Corporation (Pune), Futurewei Technologies (NJ) and Nokia Networks (IL).
