Internships

Internships/Industrial Training are known to be one of the most knowledgable experiences in an undergraduate or a management course. It provides the students with hands-on-training required to become a competent professional in the future. It is thus given a high priority at IIT Kanpur and is a compulsory course for most of the departments.

Students usually chose to go for internships in their 3rd year after the completion of their 6th semester of study. These internships are done in a variety of sectors besides engineering such as finance, consulting, FMCG's & as well as various NGO's & Government Institutions. The major companies that have taken internships have been ITC, Hindustan Unilever, Schlumberger, Deutsche Bank, Qualcomm, Microsoft, Adobe, Dr Reddy's Laboratories & Teach for India to name a few. Typically companies conduct the process for interns when they come for delivering a pre-placement talk for the final year students.
