Abstract
In the talk titled, ‘Robot Motion Planning, Manipulation and Perception’, Dr. Rekha will speak about her research in different areas of robotics applications such as:
- Development of a rough terrain path planning algorithm for a mobile rover for finding a path from an initial point to a final goal point using a new potential field and A-star method.
- Development of a robotic system that can automate the task of picking and stowing objects from and to a rack in an e-commerce warehouse to solve the challenges in Object and Grasp pose detection, Manipulation ability and Integration of different modules with 6DOF UR10 robot manipulator
- Development of reliable weed removal technologies for vegetables in AgroFood that can accurately and rapidly differentiate crop plants from weeds as well as automatically remove weeds without damage to the crop using Machine learning/deep learning Computer vision/image processing, Crop signaling and computer vision.
- Development of advanced Cognitive Robotics for Flexible Agro-Food Technology in Greenhouse environment, Food processing and food packaging using Mask RCNN deep learning algorithm for the estimation of various aspects of an object such as shape,size,weight,softness and deformation
About the Speaker
- Dr. Rekha Raja (Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands)
Rekha Raja obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Jalpaiguri Govt. Engineering College, India, in 2007, Master’s degree from Bengal Engineering and Science University, India, in 2009 and PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India in 2016 She worked as a scientist, at Innovation Lab, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Noida, India from 2016 to 2018. She did her postdoctoral research at the University of California Davis, USA from 2018 to 2019. Currently, she is working as a Senior Researcher at robotics and computer vision group at the Wageningen University and Research, Netherlands. She has published 10 international journal papers and 16 international conference papers. Her research interests include Robotics, AI, Robot motion planning, computer vision,machine learning, etc.
