1.Workshop series on Innovation and EntrepreneurshipWorkshops will be aimed at capacity building for 3 target groups –1) SMEs (current entrepreneurs)
  • Business modeling for sustainable growth2) Incubatee companies (pipeline entrepreneurs)
  • Business modeling: What is your “business”?3) Students
  • Project based workshops can also be incorporated in the agenda where there will be select group of students, 5 / 6 in number.No. of workshops can be increased depending upon the no. of audience and response in the initial phases. SMEs can be brought in later when workshop organization follows a set pattern. This is because we may have to invite SMEs from outside Kanpur.
One 1 day workshop per target audience type per month.
2.Round tablesIntend to have 6 – 9 participants for each event, out of which 3 – 5 participants can be from IITK. Some known people from outside to also participate.Topics can be –
  • Issues related to Intellectual Property.
  • How to promote innovation in industrial (and artisan) clusters.
  • The potential impact of open content and social media as disrupters for the education systems in India.
  • From “jugad” to innovation in India: How to? Etc.- 2 people to present an opinion / concept note / research in progress (i.e. 1 from center and one invitee) 15 minutes each.- Discussion to be focused around the 2 concept notes.- Session recorded and transcribed.- Determine which topics should be included in later round tables and people / experts who should be invited to write an opinion piece who might provide valuable contributions.

Academic –Ph.D. students from IITK can be invited to debate on the innovative applications of their respective research.ORA faculty member can be invited for a presentation on an innovative product / thought.Industry / Government

A government or industry delegate can be invited for a talk of about half hour or 45 minutes, which can then lead to a 2 hours session with Q & A session following the talk.
Academic –1st Monday of every month /Industry/ Government –One per quarter
4.Develop a research agenda and roadmapA capacity building program titled “Entrepreneurship Researchers Group Program (ERGP)” will be introduced wherein 20 motivated and committed researchers will be selected and funded for developing their research program. Over the course of a year, their research capacity will be built by training them in various methodologies through training programmes, workshops and seminars.Annually

we can have the following -
- One article per month posted on the website by any faculty member.
- Special invites for the blog.
- Video recordings of the activities listed per 1,2 and 3 above.
