Shibabrata Nandi

Ph.D. (Iowa State University, 2009) ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Dr. Shibabrata Nandi joined the department in 2015. He obtained his Ph.D. from Iowa State University (Ames Laboratory) under the supervision of Prof. Alan I. Goldman. Subsequently, he moved to Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, Institute of Solid State Research, Germany, for his post-doctoral work with Prof. Thomas Brückel (2010-2013). Later on, he continued as a post-doctoral researcher at Technical University of Munich (2013 - 2015), Germany.

Dr. Nandi is an experimental physicist, interested in investigating strongly correlated electron systems on their magnetic, electronic and thermal properties using x-ray and neutron scattering techniques. He is particularly interested in interplay between magnetism and superconductivity in superconductors and spin dynamics, crystal field excitations in superconductors and multiferroics.
