ASSISTANT   PROFESSOR

Dr.  Sutapa Mukherji joined the Department  in 2002. She obtained her doctoral degree from the Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, working on pure and disordered systems of Directed Polymers under the supervision of Prof. S. M. Bhattacharjee. Subsequently she worked as a postdoctoral scholar in the University of Cologne and the University of Essen, Germany. Before joining IIT, Kanpur, she was in the Physics Department of IIT, Kharagpur as an Assistant Professor. 

Sutapa Mukherji is a theoretical condensed-matter physicist with primary interest in phases and phase transitions in driven diffusive systems, non-equilibrium dynamics of spin systems and physics of biopolymers and molecular motors.
