Applications are invited for the post of Postdoctoral Fellow (Project Scientist) under a AOARD / AFOSR sponsored project entitled "Tunable composite metamaterials with imbedded coherently controllable atomic molecular media". The position is tenable for one year, and extendable until 31 July 2011 only, upon satisfactory performance. The Postdoctoral fellow will conduct experimental work on developing optical metamaterials with focussed ion beam and lithographic technologies and measuring the optical properties of the metamaterials developed.

Essential qualifications: Ph.D. in experimental physics with a reasonable publication record.

Candidates whose Ph.D. work was on Optics / Lasers / Thin films will be preferred. Basic computer skills are essential. NET /GATE scores are desirable. Salary will be in the scale 15000-1500-30000 with medical facilities as permissible. Minimum emoluments will be Rs. 21,000/­ per month.
