The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Indian
Institute of Technology Kanpur organized the International Conference
on Recent Advances in Statistics during January 4-6th, 2005. This to
felicitate three of our esteemed colleagues, Professors Diwakar Sharma,
G. K. Shukla and P.C. Joshi of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics,
IIT Kanpur.
The Director of IIT Kanpur, Professor S.G. Dhande
inaugurated the conference and mentioned about the development and importance
of Statistics and Probablity in everyday life.
