Introducing Earthquake Resistant Design in Architecture Curriculum

 

A two day National Workshop on Introducing Earthquake Resistant Design in Architecture Curriculum (28-29 November, 2004) organized under the aegis of the National Programme on Earthquake Engineering Education (NPEEE) at IIT Kanpur.  About thirty leading practicing architects and faculty members from across the country are participating in this workshop. 

The workshop was inaugurated by Professor Andrew Charleson (School of Architecture, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand), Visiting Faculty at IIT Kanpur under NPEEE.  Professor Charleson in his inaugural speech emphasized the importance of increasing the knowledge in the area of earthquake engineering and it’s relevance considering the threats from future earthquakes.
