Important Clarifications
- The total number of seats in Mechanical Engineering are 120, out of which 60 are in Solid Mechanics and
Design (SMD), 42 are in Fluid and Thermal Sciences (FTS) and 18 in Manufacturing Sciences (MFS).
- Marks shown in the tables include 80% weight to GATE score+ 18% to performance in BTech+ 2% for being
from a
Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI). IIT graduates with a CPI greater than 8.0 are eligible
for admission without GATE.
- Candidates with Production Engineering backgrounds are eligible for only Manufacturing Sciences (MFS) stream. If
you have given other choices, they have been changed to MFS.
- The CPI reflects your BTech marks out of 10. Marks submitted in all other formats have been
converted to a base of 10. If you think that your BTech marks is wrong, write to dpgcme@iitk.ac.in
immediately.
- If you did not give all three choices for streams, your name may appear as Waitlisted even though your marks
are more than other Shortlisted candidates.
- If your stream has been downgraded please let us know.
- This is an updated list based on the number of people who have accepted our offers and submitted
bank drafts. Note that some change in your stream allocation may have happened.
- NO MORE UPDATES WILL BE DONE.
