Eighth International Conference on

Simulated Evolution And Learning (SEAL-2010)
01 - 04 December 2010, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India

Evolutionary computation and learning approaches are two fundamental methods of adaptation which received an increasing attention over the past years. Simulated Evolution and Learning (SEAL-2010) is the eighth biennial conference which will be followed after a series of successful SEAL conferences, the last being organized at the University of Melbourne, Australia in December 2008. Cross-fertilisation between evolutionary learning and other machine learning approaches, such as neural network learning, reinforcement learning, decision tree learning, fuzzy system learning, etc., will be encouraged by the conference. The other major theme of the conference is optimisation by evolutionary approaches or hybrid evolutionary approaches. The topics of interest to this conference include but are not limited to the following: Evolutionary Learning; Evolutionary Optimisation (single and multi-objective); Hybrid Learning; Hybrid optimization, Adaptive Systems; Theoretical Issues in Evolutionary Computation; Real-World Applications of Evolutionary Computation and learning Techniques. See Call For Papers for further details.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi is a convenient point of entry for arriving at Kanpur. The IGI airport at Delhi is served by most major airlines. The international terminal at the IGI airport is called Terminal 2.

While the service is free, you will need to show your international flight's boarding card and a printout of your domestic flight e-ticket or paper ticket. Please note that printing services are not readily available once you exit the main Customs gate. There is an information desk and airline help desks at the baggage claim area, before you come through the Customs check.

Taxi Service at IGI international airport

You can also take a taxi to go to Terminal 1 or to any other destination in New Delhi, including the New Delhi Railway Station. It is recommended to avail of a pre-paid taxi service that is monitored by the Delhi police to avoid overcharging of passengers. Pre-paid taxi booths are located immediately to the left when you exit the main Customs gate. Coming to Kanpur from Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad

If you are planning to come from one of the Indian metros or state capitals, you can take a flight from that city to either Delhi or Mumbai and then connect to one of the flights to Lucknow.

Domestic Train Travel

Please ensure adequate time gap between connecting flights and trains.

Train service in India is provided by the Indian Railways ( http://www.indianrail.gov.in ) and is the most popular form of public transportation. Passenger service in the Indian Railways is divided into several classes, namely, Air Conditioned I (First) class, Air Conditioned II (Two Tier) class, Air Conditioned III (3-tier) class, Air Conditioned Chair Car and Sleeper Class. The Rajdhani and the Shatabdi family of trains are widely regarded as the best trains in India. Train reservations can be made at one of the many Railway reservation counters all over India or over the internet using the Indian Railways e-ticket ( http://www.irctc.co.in ) facility. See the Indian Railways website ( http://www.indianrail.gov.in ) for further details. For those inexperienced in travelling by the Indian Railways, it is recommended that they travel by one of Air Conditioned I, Air Conditioned II or the Air Conditioned Chair Car (for Shatabdi trains) classes.

Travelling to and from New Delhi

There are over twenty trains connecting New Delhi with Kanpur. A few of the convenient trains are listed below. The city of Delhi has several railway stations. The trains listed below originate from the New Delhi Railway Station (code NDLS). The New Delhi railway station is about 10-12 miles from either of the airports. Depending upon the traffic, it may take from 45 minutes to an hour and a half to get from the airports to the railway station. It is suggested that passengers connecting from a flight to a train take this into consideration. The main train station at Kanpur is called the Kanpur Central railway station (code CNB).
