Evolutionary computation and learning approaches are two fundamental methods of adaptation which received an increasing attention over the past years. Simulated Evolution and Learning (SEAL-2010) is the eighth biennial conference which will be followed after a series of successful SEAL conferences, the last being organized at the University of Melbourne, Australia in December 2008. Cross-fertilisation between evolutionary learning and other machine learning approaches, such as neural network learning, reinforcement learning, decision tree learning, fuzzy system learning, etc., will be encouraged by the conference. The other major theme of the conference is optimisation by evolutionary approaches or hybrid evolutionary approaches. The topics of interest to this conference include but are not limited to the following: Evolutionary Learning; Evolutionary Optimisation (single and multi-objective); Hybrid Learning; Hybrid optimization, Adaptive Systems; Theoretical Issues in Evolutionary Computation; Real-World Applications of Evolutionary Computation and learning Techniques. Instruction for Oral Presentations

  • Speakers are given 25 minutes to prepare, talk and conclude (with queries) their oral presentation. It is mandatory to adhere to this time limit since the whole program schedule is planned accordingly.
  • Please adhere to the scheduled ordering given in the program schedule.
  • In case of absence of any particular speaker scheduled for an oral presentation, the slot will be nullified and the attendees may take a break or go to another parallel session.
  • In no case the presentations would be preponed or postponed.

Instructions for Poster Presentations

SEAL2010 provides the boards to tha authors where they can paste their posters. They are advised to arrange their posters atleast an hour before their presentation.

  • Format: The orientation of the posters should be potrait, with sizes smaller than or equal to 30 inches/76.2 cm wide x 40 inches/101.6 cm tall. Please use large sans-serif font (for example Arial) to aid visibility from some distance away.
  • Please adhere to the schedule slot for this session.
  • In no case the presentations would be preponed or postponed.

Cultural Programme - Ustad Shahid Parvez*

"Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan (born 14 October 1955) is a sitar player of Hindustani classical music. He carries on a legacy of sitar playing that goes back several generations in his family. He belongs to the famous Etawah Gharana and belongs to the seventh generation of this musical lineage. He is one of India's most celebrated younger musicians, prized especially for the vocalistic phrasing of his raga improvisations."
