Basketball is a fast-paced, energy-sapping game, originally American but now popular worldwide. It has a lot of glamour attached to it and lots of slick tricks jostle for attention, but spirit, strength and teamwork count for more. You score points by throwing (shooting) the ball into the opponents' basket. The number of points earned from a successful shot depends on the distance of the player from the basket.

Venue:

• Men: Main Stadium Basketball Courts
• Women: GH Basketball Court

Teams:

• Men: 5 players per team.
• Women: 3 players per team.
• Mixed: Two guys, a girl and... whoops... no pizza-place. Anybody going to Rave tonight?
• Since this is a draining game, you'd better have some substitutes. Usual basketball substitution rules will be followed. No player is allowed to play in a team when he/she is registered in or has played for another team.

Rules:

• Standard basketball rules will be followed. Finer points will be clarified on the court by the referee and the organizers.
• The duration of the matches and the format of the tournament (knockout or league) will be decided once registration is over and we know how many teams are participating.
• Avoid fouling your opponents or you will be penalized.
• The referee's decisions are final.
