The National Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights completes successfully!!

The two day, "National Workshop on intellectual Property Rights", organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in association with SIDBI Innovation and Incubation Centre concluded successfully on the evening of 1st April 2007. Students and Intellectuals from across the country took part in the workshop. At the end of the workshop awards were given to - best poster presenter and paper presenter. The judges, Dr. Sanjay Palsule of IIT Roorkee, Dr. Sudhir K Jain of IIT Delhi, Mr. Pramod Kumar Rai of Athena Law Associates and Mr. Divaynsh Johar of Evaluserve had a difficult time deciding the winners. But all the judges unanimously felt that:

•  Best poster presentation: -

"Googlelization of Libraries – Fair Use vs Fare use. How 'Fair or 'Fare"presented by Mr. Akhil Prasad from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar.

•  Best paper presentation: -

"Internationalization of Intellectual Property Rights And Ensuing Impact On The Developing Countries": A Review, by Ms. Ruchi Sharma of IIT Kanpur .

"A Model for Operationalising Intellectual Property Rights for Traditional Knowledge" by Mr. S.M. Nagachethan and M.J. Praveenaswamy of IRMA, Anand.
