The First Indo-German symposium entitled "Frontiers of Chemistry" will be organized by the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur , October 26-28, 2007. The Indian Institutes of Technology have grown into centers of excellence for engineering and science education and research. IITs have a formal relationship with many top-class universities in the world, including Germany. This relationship spreads over collaborative research projects, exchange of graduate students and faculty as well as joint workshops. We wish to foster and reinforce mutually beneficial scientific relationships in Chemistry through this symposium. These can be further consolidated through the aegis of this meeting.
This meeting aims to bring 30 top Indian and German Chemists actively working in frontier research areas. Several scientists will be invited to participate in this meeting and it is hoped that these interactions will catalyze collaborative efforts in future. IIT Kanpur is located on the Grand Trunk Road, 15 km west of Kanpur City
and measures close to 420 hectares. IIT Kanpur campus is one of the best
places to stay with a lush green atmosphere. The campus provides all the
facilities to the whole fraternity with high speed internet connection in
all the rooms, shopping complexes, restaurants, swimming pool, gymnasium,
recreation, entertainment, sports and several cultural and co-curricular
activities. It has well-equipped and multi-faceted auditorium and lecture
halls for hosting international symposium and workshops. |
