Agenda for the WorkShop
Rather than following traditional methods for the design and deployment of IT, Shinsei Bank has applied a methodology based on techniques used widely in manufacturing and production engineering. By applying this methodology Shinsei was able to successfully transform its IT platform and create enablers to grow its business. The approach followed is applicable to the banking industry and to banks in IndiaThe benefits for large banking and other enterprises is:
- Low cost, flexible and scalable platform: ability to deploy a low cost IT platform that is flexible and can scale up easily to handle growth in volumes and business
- Technology driven processes: IT systems are designed to have operations work done under machine control removing the need for supervision and greatly simplifying organization structures. By having machines guide the work, it removed the need for specialists and enabled people with general skills to perform highly complex tasks under machine control
