Biomedical research now is focused on a "bench-side to bed-side" approach meaning translation of basic research to therapeutic applications. In recognition of this trend, the Indian Society of Developmental Biology (ISDB) is organizing a 2-day symposium on "Developmental Biology and Biomedical Research". The meeting will focus on the understanding of both normal development and disease mechanisms using animal models. A special track of the meeting will focus on the genetic and developmental mechanism involved in diseases like Osteoarthritis and their treatment using stem cell therapy and tissue engineering approaches.
