Inviting Applications from Senior Undergraduates in Science & Engineering

AREAS OF STUDY

Three different research areas have been identified for the first in this series of planned Academies. Subject areas under each category are only examples of study areas and others will be included on the basis of student interest.

Electronic Devices and Technology
* VLSI in the modern day context
* Interconnect technology
* Barriers to circuitry scales - real or imagined?

Numerical Methods in Modeling and Simulation
* System modeling and analysis
* Multidisciplinary design optimization
* On modeling uncertainly in system analysis

Energy and Environment
* Accelerator-Driven Sub-critical System
* Water and the environment
* LED lighting
* Alternative Sources of Energy

Three (3) students will be selected from each university in each of
the subject areas.

The academy will bring together talented undergraduates from their respective institutions in a collaborative learning and interchange environment. The focus would not only be on learning about contemporary research issues but also to promote a greater understanding of the cultural context in which Indian and US students learn and develop.
