Humanities and Social Sciences Department consists of six academic disciplines: Economics, English, Fine Arts, Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology. All the disciplines offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses for students pursuing different programmes in engineering and sciences in the Institute. All disciplines except Fine Arts have their own postgraduate programmes leading to award of the PhD degree. The aim of postgraduate programmes is to produce specialists in respective disciplines who are also familiar with developments in other related disciplines.
