  • To avail the facilities of Health Centre free of charge, please get your booklet issued from the I.D. cell situated in the Faculty Building ground floor after completing the necessary formalities.

  • With the booklet get yourself registered with the Health Centre reception counter. You can also get yourself registered on line. However, while coming to the Health Centre, medical booklet should be bought for the purpose of prescription.

  • You can get any of your near and dear ones who are not eligible, also treated at nominal charges under non-entitled category.

  • Health Centre works round the clock, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. On Saturday evenings, Sundays and Gazetted holidays only in case of emergency the Doctor on duty may be contacted.

  • Then choose the Doctor with whom you want to consult. The available doctors are displayed prominently at the health centre reception counter. The duty timing of the doctor is also displayed on the website. http://www.iitk.ac.in/hc/

  • Faculty get preference in the morning along with the students.

  • After visiting the Medical Officer at the Health Centre, if the medicines prescribed by the Medical Officer are not available with the pharmacy of the Health Centre, patient should get the N.A. (Not available) from the pharmacist of the Health Centre on the same day and purchase the medicines from market with in three days.

  • If Medical Officer advises you to consult specialist in the city for opinion, consultation should be made within three days and prescription/advise of tests etc. of the specialist be bought to the Health Centre to any medical officer and get the same prescribed by the Medical Officer of the Health Centre to be eligible for reimbursement.

  • If cost of medicines prescribed are less than Rs.100.00 then reimbursement shall be made on the same day when the amount is claimed from the Accounts Section.

  • If medicines are purchased from market and tests done outside Health Centre, the patient has to fill Form A which is available at the Health Centre Office and also on the website http://www.iitk.ac.in/hc. After filling the requisite details, the same should be submitted along with prescription and bill to the Health Centre office on any working day between 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The bill should be submitted within 3 months after the consumption of medicines.

  • If the patient is admitted to any hospital, then Form B should be filled which is available with the Account Section. The requisite details should be filled up and along with bills and prescription, the same should also be submitted to the Health Centre office on any working day between 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The bill should be submitted within 3 months from the date of discharge.

  • The list of recognized labs for tests along with the rates for each test, Names of specialists along with their address, procedures and their rates are posted on the website http:// www.iitk.ac.in/hc. The list of recognized hospitals in the city of Kanpur are given for your ready reference:
