
In 2003, for the first time the IIT Kanpur
team consisting of three Junior Undergraduate students from
the Department of Electrical Engineering (again!) was chosen
as one of the Ten Finalist Teams at CSIDC 2003, based
on their project "DIVINE - DevIces for the Viually
Impaired for Navigating Everywhere" and were
invited to participate in the World Finals held in Washington
D. C. from June 29 to July 1, 2003.
The goal of the Fourth Annual
Computer Society International Design Competition
(CSIDC) was to advance excellence in education by having student
teams design and implement computer-based solutions to real-world
problems. The theme of CSIDC 2003 was Added Value:
Turning Computers Into Systems.
