Payment can be made in one of the following methods:

  1. Online Through Credit Card
  2. Through Check/Draft
  3. Periodic Contribution Through Credit Card Authorization

    Online Through Credit Card
You can make contributions through your credit card on the web itself. On the web-based form you will be asked for information about yourself and the credit card related information. There is also a column for specifying the purpose of the contribution.

If you are ready to contribute, please click here.

    Through Check/Draft
If you are sending your contributions through a check or a draft, then please make it payable to IIT Kanpur Endowment Fund. In case of a draft, it should be payable at Kanpur (drafts are not necessary as our bank does not charge any collection charges for checks on any Indian bank). Please include a Cover Letter addressed to Director, IIT Kanpur in which you should state that this may be considered as part of the batch contribution, and that a receipt for tax-deduction purposes be issued to you.

Periodic Contribution Through Credit Card Authorization
To avoid inconvenience caused by reminders, writing cheques, and their posting, institute provides a convenient mechanism of automatic contribution through credit card authorization for periodic contribution.

You may write a letter addressed to Director, IIT Kanpur, where you may state that you wish to make periodic gifts to IIT Kanpur. You should state your name, credit card number, expiry date, starting month of authorization, last month of authorization, periodicity (monthly, quarterly, or anything else), amount to be charged each time, billing address, and type of credit card (MC/Visa). If you have been associated with the Institute as alumni, faculty, staff or in any other form, please do write related information that you remember (department, roll number, program, etc.).

Send the letter to the Dean, RPG at the address given at the end of the page.

Donation in Countries other than India & USA
As of now, there is no tax-exempt status in any country other than India and USA. One can pretty much use any of the mechanism that someone in India can use. You can contribute on the web through a credit card or authorize IIT Kanpur to charge certain amount to the credit card account periodically. In both these cases, the amounts have to be specified in Indian rupees. And finally, you can send a check in any denomination and currency (as long as it is a convertible currency). For more details, check the information on Donating in India.

It is advisable for a Batch to nominate a Batch Evangelist if group donation is contemplated. The Evangelist nominated by the Batch will be authoized by the Foundation to receive donation cheques (made out to the IIT Kanpur Foundation). The Evangelist shall maintain a spreadsheet and monitor the collections against goals.
