Stock Donation:
Donating appreciated stocks directly to IIT
Kanpur Foundation has a dual tax advantage, as you
do not pay any capital gains tax (which is paid if
you sell stock) and the full value of your contribution
at time of transfer is 100% tax deductible to you.
Give the following instruction to your broker and

toll-free at 800-388-4930. It has been the Foundation's
practice to sell the stock upon receipt. Please inform
Bhushan by e-mail if there is a restriction placed
on the sale of the stock until a future date.

If your company has a matching gifts program,
we urge you to make use of that program. Include the
address and other pertinent details for foundation
in your company's form, and send the form to Abhay
Bhushan at the above address, The Foundation will
fill out its portion of the form and follow-up. Let

Batch Donations and Specific
Programs:
It is advisable for a Batch to nominate a
Batch Evangelist if group donation is contemplated.
