New Chairs
Ram Tiwari Chair
Dr. Kamal Tiwari (BTech/ME/1973) and his wife Gloria have set up the "Ram Tiwari Chair" at IIT Kanpur to honour his father. The Chair will be in the Management Programme of the Department of Industrial & Management Engineering. Dr. Tiwari, after his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering and another M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, both from Case Western Reserve University, went on to do his MD from Medical College in Ohio and is now a busy practicing doctor. He is the President & CEO of "Pain Management Centre" with multiple clinics in Indiana, and the President & CEO of "Southern Indiana Anesthesia Group". He is Founder and part-owner of the "Monroe Hospital" in Indiana. His wife Gloria is a Chemical Engineer from Purdue University, and an MBA from Indiana University Bloomington's Kelley School of Business.
This chair is in the process of being formally established.

 

Satish Chandra Agarwal Chair
Kamal (BT/CE/72) and Katherine Agarwal have established a faculty chair at IIT Kanpur to honour his father. The chair is open to all departments of the Institute. Agarwal received his MBA (Finance) from the University of Maryland in 1975. He joined a Washington based company of Ship Brokers dealing primarily with United States Government Food Aid programs and became a partner in the firm in 1983. In 1991 he founded a new ship brokerage company, Phoenix Chartering Inc. in Washington. He sold the company and retired in January 2005. Presently Agarwal lives in McLean, Virginia, USA.

Arun Kumar Chair
Family, Friends and admirers of Late Sri Arun Kumar (BT/EE/1969) have established a faculty chair in his memory. The chair is open to all departments of the Institute. Kumar obtained his masters in Computer Science from University of Missouri, U.S.A. He was the President and Managing Director of Flextronics Software Systems and the Chairman of the Executive Council of NASSCOM (National Association of Software & Service Companies) in 2002-03. He was also Chairman of the American Business Council in the Telecommunications Group, and had been an active member of the Governing Council of the University of Delhi's Institute of Informatics and Communication. He was the recipient of various corporate awards including the coveted Hughes Chairman's Honor Award for Excellence and the CEO of the Year award from the Aspac HRD Congress.
