Mr. Prashant Tewari (BT/ME/1979) and his wife Ms. Leena Gandhi Tewari have set up a USV Chair at IIT Kanpur. Leena is the Chairperson and Prashant the Managing Director of USV Limited, Mumbai.

USV Ltd is a leading pharmaceutical with leadership in diabetes and cardiovascular fields in India. Its R&D focus is on development of Generics, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), Bio-similars and Innovation projects in the area of vaccines resulting in 57 international patent filings. With about 2,170 employees, during the financial year 2005-06, USV registered sales of Rs. 605 crores (USD 137 million). Prashant did a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. Leena has a B.Com. from Sydenham College, University of Bombay and an MBA from Boston University, USA.
