Sanjay Mittal Chair at IIT Kanpur

Dr. Sanjay Mittal (BT/EE/1975) and his wife Mrs. Preeti Mittal have set up a faculty chair open to all faculty in Engineering and Mathematics who are working on innovative computational algorithms. Mittal is the founder and former CEO of Selectica, a company he helped take public in 2000. He earlier served as the CTO and Vice President of Engineering at Selectica, was the architect of its innovative constraints based configuration and pricing technology, and holds multiple patents. He was also a senior researcher at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Centre, where his research on Artificial Intelligence was greatly acclaimed. Mittal obtained his Ph. D. in Computer Science at the Ohio State University where he has also served as an Assistant Professor.
