Applications are invited for following temporary positions in a sponsored project (DST/PHY/2015447) at the Department of Physics, IIT Kanpur.

Project Scientist (one position)

Minimum Qualification: PhD in Condensed Matter Physics, with thesis topic directly related to physics of vortices in superconductors and studies on dissipation properties of superconductors, role of defects in controlling dissipation.Must also have demonstrable experience in any local magnetic field measurement techniques like low temperature magneto-optical imaging and/or micro-hall measurements.

Desirable Work Experience: Good publication record with publications in high impact factor journals. Must be experienced with low temperature cryogenic techniques, should demonstrate in his/her application of having built an experimental setup during PhD. Must demonstrate the ability to do programming with one programming language along with demonstrable experience with labview and interfacing instruments. Demonstrable experience in nanopatterning superconductors.

Salary range: Rs 22,000 - 2,200 - 44,000 (per month)

The above positions are purely temporary, and are for six months' duration.
