ONE research position is available for Junior Research Fellowship in a project titled “Active fault, Paleoseismic and Crustal deformation in NW and Central Himalaya, India: An integrated approach towards Seismic hazard assessment.” for a Period of One year. The period may be extended based on performance and requirement. Project is sponsored by Ministry Of Earth Sciences (MoES), New Delhi.

Salary: Rs. 25000 + HRA

Duration: Total duration of the project 5 years.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. with NET or M. Tech in Earth Sciences

Nature of Job: The project work will involve fieldwork in Central and NW Himalaya emphasizing towards (a) identification and mapping of Active Fault and related tectonic geomorphic markers, (b) to undertake to Paleoseismic studies to identify paleo-earthquakes, (c) to undertake crustal deformation studies through GPS measurements, and (d) dating of tectonic landforms and reconstruct the chronology of historic/prehistoric earthquake to understand the recurrence of earthquakes in the region. Along with this the responsibilities will be to support in our OSL dating Lab.
