ONE research position is available for Junior Research Fellowship in a project titled “Integrated project on active fault mapping in Kachchh, Western India” for a Period of One year. The period may be extended based on performance and requirement. Project is sponsored by Ministry Of Earth Sciences (MoES), New Delhi.

Salary: Rs. 25,000/- + HRA

Duration: Total duration of the project 5 years.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. with NET or M. Tech in Earth Sciences

Nature of Job: The project work will involve fieldwork in Kachchh Region emphasizing towards (a) identification and mapping of Active Fault and related tectonic geomorphic markers, (b) to undertake to Paleoseismic studies to identify paleo-earthquakes, (c) to undertake crustal deformation studies through GPS measurements, and (d) dating of tectonic landforms and reconstruct the chronology of historic/prehistoric earthquake to understand the recurrence of earthquakes in the region. Along with this the responsibilities will be to support in our OSL dating Lab.
The post is purely temporary and on contractual basis
