Position: Deputy Project Manager

Applications are invited for the post of “Deputy Project Manager” in the Project numbered    SERB/CS/2016466in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur.

Minimum qualification: 

• Master’s degree  in management, public administration, Law, or related disciplines and minimum five years of experience

Desired qualification: 

• At least 60% marks in academics
• Training in Human Resources Management and documentation
• Experience in research administration related jobs
• Experience in organizing large scale competitive events in the area of public policy, law, data privacy, security etc.

• Experience in managing large scale projects in an Academic Environment

Skills required:

• Strong writing skills with attention to detail and ability to document fast, accurately and comprehensively
• Strong communication skills to effectively correspond with diverse audience
• Ability to work independently with limited instructions
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages

Consolidated Salary range: INR 16000–1600--32000.

Work:  The candidate’s tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Manage an Indo-US project and look at various International collaboration opportunities
• Work with US entities to organize events related to security, law, and public policy
• Responsible for corresponding  to educational institutes and maintain relations with other relevant stakeholder
• Work with industrial partners  related to the project
• Ability to manage and work in team structure
• Organize competitive events and academic  internships
• Preparation of reports, data sheets and other documents as required
• Organize workshops, seminars and academic meetings
• Reporting on project funds and related record keeping

Duration: Appointment will be made initially for one year and may be extended up to five years  or till  the end of the project whichever is earlier,  subject to satisfactory performance. Performance reviews will be held weekly. The appointment can be terminated at any time if found unsatisfactory.
