Applications are invited from highly motivated young persons for one post of SRF for performing laboratory and field experiments and numerical analysis in the field of Geotechnical Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur.

Post: SRF (One)

Project Title: "Low cost vibration screening technique for machine excitation in the built up area using bamboos" (CSIR/CE/2017164)

Minimum Qualification:

  • For SRF - Possessing i) BE/B.Tech or equivalent and at least 2 years of post-BE/B.Tech research/teaching experience as evidence from published papers in standard referred journals, ii) ME/M.Tech or equivalent degree in Engg./Techn.

Desirable Qualification: Candidate with background in soil dynamics, machine foundation, vibration screening/isolation, finite/boundary element analysis, soil plasticity and with sound knowledge of computer programming (C/C++/Fortran/Matlab) will be preferred.

Nature of Work: Experimental and numerical analysis of vibration screening technique using open and in-filled trench. Writing of research papers in journal/conference.

Age limit: Maximum 32 years for SRF (upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically handicapped candidates).

Salary: INR 35,000/- pm

The post is purely temporary, and is for duration of one year and may be extended depending on the requirement. If shortlisted, copies of relevant certificates will be required, and will be checked against original certificates at the time of interview.

Only short-listed applicants will be called for an interview (by first week of December, 2019). Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualification and work experience will not be called for the interview. No TA/DA will be provided to attend the interview.
