Nominations are invited from the faculty, students and alumni of IITK for consideration for the Distinguished Teacher Award 2009. This award is our recognition to IITK faculty members who have excelled in teaching, the term 'teaching' being taken in its broadest sense.

The nominations must clearly state the distinguishing features of the nominee and may be sent in a sealed envelop marked, "Distinguished Teacher Award 2009", to: The Dean of Faculty Affairs, IIT Kanpur. Electronic nominations are also acceptable, they may be sent to : dofa@iitk.ac.in

The nominee should have spent at least five years in IITK as a faculty member.

A committee consisting of:
Director (Chairman), an Alumni Association nominee (an IITK Alumnus from outside campus), Convenor, Faculty Forum, President of Students Gymkhana, Nominee of Student Senate (a PG student if the President is a UG and vice- versa), and AR (Faculty Affairs) as Secretary,

will consider the nominations and make its recommendations to the Chairman, BOG by the end of July 2009.

The Award will be presented to the awardee(s) on September 5, 2009 at the "Teachers Day" celebration.

Last Date for receipt of nominations: July 15, 2009.
