Criteria for Medical Reimbursement
  • After visiting the Medical Officer at the Health Centre, if the medicines prescribed by the Medical Officer are not available with the pharmacy of the Health Centre, patient should get the N.A. (Not available) from the pharmacist of the Health Centre on the same day and purchase the medicines from market within three days, the amount of which can later be reimbursed.

  • If Medical Officer advises you to consult specialist in the city for opinion, consultation should be made within three days and prescription/advise of tests etc. of the specialist should be brought to any Medical Officer of the Health Centre and get the same prescribed by the Medical Officer to be eligible for reimbursement.

Steps for getting Medical Bills Reimbursed
  • If cost of medicines prescribed are less than Rs.100.00 then reimbursement shall be made on the same day when the amount is claimed from the Accounts Section (located on the ground floor of the Faculty Building).
  • If medicines are purchased from market and tests done outside Health Centre, the patient has to fill Form A which is available at the Health Centre Office and also on the website http://www.iitk.ac.in/hc (click here to download). After filling the requisite details, the same should be submitted along with prescription and bill to the Health Centre office on any working day between 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The bill should be submitted within 3 months after the consumption of medicines.
  • If the patient is admitted to any hospital, then Form B should be filled which is available with the Accounts Section. The requisite details should be filled up and the same should also be submitted to the Health Centre office along with bills and prescription on any working day between 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The bill should be submitted within 3 months from the date of discharge.
  • Once the required form has been submitted, the entire procedure for reimbursement takes a month or two. The reimbursed amount can then be procured from the Accounts Section.
