Storage Server is used to keep files in your space as long you remain with the college or institute or organization. These server basically provide a cost-effective and highly available storage without sacrificing scale or performance at any point of time.

A storage area network (SAN) is a dedicated network that provides access to consolidated, block level data storage in a highly secure manner. A SAN typically has its own storage devices devices which are generally not accessible by other devices connected to the local area network. SANs are primarily used to make storage devices accessible to servers so that the other devices connected to that server may feel that they are locally attached devices to the operating system.

In the early 2000s, the cost and complexity of SANs dropped to that level from where they can be easily and widely adopted across both ie. enterprises and small to medium sized business environments.

The Storage server provides secure networked personal storage accessible scaled to different operating systems across the globe via your HaverApps username and password.

You may safely store files on the Storage server for use from any networked computer on campus, or share files on the Storage server with others having Haverford email accounts - which helps in easy, safer and secure data transfer.
