ABOUT THE CENTRE
Advanced
Centre for Materials Science was created in 1978 with a view to make
available major materials preparation and characterization facilities
under one-roof. These state-of-the-art research facilities are regularly
upgraded, and maintained by suitably trained competent staff. The centre
has been serving the needs of the materials community from the institute
as well as other academic and industrial establishments for about twenty
five years. For every laboratory there is a users’ committee consisting
of members drawn from various departments of the institute. For routine
maintenance electronics and machine shops are there. Besides we also
have support services of stores and administrative office.
We
are determined in providing consultancy and testing services of global
standard to the materials scientists.
The
potential users from the IITK are requested to contact the help desk for
registration so that they may book the desired slot for using various
facilities on-line. Non IITK users from academic institutions and industries
are advised to contact the respective laboratory convener or Head, ACMS.
